Laura H asked: I want to open a private daycare that will be available as a free benefit to my employees. It will only be open to my employees. All of the regulations I find are for in home daycare or daycare centers open to the public for profit. Does anyone know where I can find information on regulations for non-profit, workplace daycare center??

Happy Snappy asked: If I was a single father, I wouldn’t want my kids to associate with the criminal, barbarian offspring of single mothers. Do you think if we allowed by law segregation of daycare centers along these lines they would become more popular, thus more affordable and better staffed?

Preschool may appear to be an inconsequential part of a child’s development but many realize the true benefits of a good preschool program on the developing child.
A preschool program is often one of the first places children learn to truly begin socializing. Children who have been in daycare or playgroups may have been introduced to socialization concepts, but a preschool program takes these concepts and presents them in an organized manner.
These important developing years are the time to introduce concepts, learn to socialize and many other important aspects of growing up and a school that is able to incorporate good preschool lesson plans into the program enriches children’s lives.

For many parents of young children, it can be confusing to find out about different programs that are offered for their young children. Often children are in daycare at a young age, and as they begin to get past the toddler years, parents begin to search for different environments in which to place their children.
Preschool is one avenue that some parents pursue. Preschool may be offered in some daycare centers or parents may wish to have their children attend an independent program that is not affiliated with their current daycare to expose their children to other kids and different teaching styles.

There are many rewarding jobs that individuals can train and educate themselves for. Often these rewarding jobs are careers such as social service workers, members of the clergy, holding public office, doctors, etc. These rewarding jobs are employment positions that not only help the individual to make a living, but provide additional rewards. One of those additional rewards includes the interaction with other people in life-changing ways that other jobs and simply do not offer.
Another one of those extraordinary jobs where an individual can have a tremendous impact is that of being a teacher. Often, a teacher has the opportunity to interact with young people and help to stimulate their thinking and expand the capability of the mind.

Many parents of young children, mothers in particular, sacrifice their college education to have children and raise their families. If there were more colleges providing daycare, these young women could complete their educations sooner and provide a better life for their families. Providing on-campus daycare for employees allows colleges to attract a more diverse work force, and providing daycare for college students provides a valuable community service.

The decision has been made and you’re now ready to start your own daycare business. Now it is time to consider what commercial daycare and preschool products will be needed for your establishment.
When opening a daycare there are many selections of commercial daycare and preschool products available. Some items that will be needed for a commercial daycare and preschool include cribs for sleeping, tables, chairs and bookshelves. All of these are big items that should be purchased initially in order to get the daycare center started. Make sure to have enough of these types of products to accommodate the number of children that will be attending.
